Public Comment Concerns

The City Council meeting of Cannon Beach began with a public comment section, where residents raised various concerns. One resident, Mark Charlesworth, voiced his confusion about parking regulations in front of Surfcrest Pizza and Market. He explained that the owner of the business allows people to park for an extended period if they shop at the store, but only for five minutes if they don’t. He noted that this practice is inconsistent with the rest of Cannon Beach, where a line along the side of the road designates parking spaces. Charlesworth had already spoken to code enforcement but found the response unclear and was seeking further clarification from the council.
